They give you consolidation support without charging you interest rates - its not a loan, its a "service." You might not even have to pay for that service, but the effectiveness? Who knows.
They offer access to debt consolidation loans without charging you a finders fee or anything like that - just in the interest.

Its all about spin, about looking at debt consolidation from the prospecting of the companies offering these services. because in reality they could charge you a lot more, and in an even more intense reality they actually are charging you a lot more, at least more than you'd expect from something called free debt consolidation.

The non-profit myth

There is a legend going around the Internet claiming people can secure free debt consolidation from companies operating under the "not for profit" umbrella.Thats hogwash - non-profit doe not mean free, it never has and it never will. With this kind of "free debt consolidation" you will still have to pay for everything, just not the high fees and excessive rates charged by companies offering for profit services.

So ask yourself - what would be better? A half hearted approach where they gain nothing because you are pinching pennies and wishing on a star for some free debt consolidation, or getting real about the situation, paying the price for effective, consolidation tactics and getting out of debt the right way?
